Brian Freedman is a food and wine writer, wine educator, and wine consultant. He is Director of Wine Education at The Wine School of Philadelphia, contributing writer for John Mariani's Virtual Gourmet, Food and Wine Editor and restaurant critic for LifeStyle Magazine, contributing food and drinks writer for Philadelphia Style Magazine and Where Magazine, restaurant critic for AroundPhilly.com and AroundAC.com, wine columnist for Affluent Magazine, and Editorial Director of ClassicWines.com.
Brian is also a trained sommelier--he has passed his first exam with the prestigious Court of Master Sommeliers--and regularly hosts wine dinners at restaurants, clubs, and private residences throughout the Philadelphia area and beyond. His work for The Wine School includes teaching wine courses, choosing wine lists for the school's classes, and conducting corporate, private, and charity wine events.
Brian's work has been published both nationally and locally, and he has made several live television appearances on both Fox 29's "Good Day Philadelphia" and "Your Morning on CN8." In addition, he is the host of "The Classic Wines Minute" on ClassicWines.com, a popular on-line video series for which he has interviewed some of the region's most important wine experts.
He has also been interviewed for articles in a number of publications, including USAirways Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and syndicated Associated Press pieces, among others.
